HANNAH YI

Grand Piano

Hannah Yi is an accomplished chamber musician, concert pianist, and respected piano pedagogue based in Orange County, California. From the early stages of her musical journey, she embarked on a path of excellence under the guidance of renowned instructors Ick-choo and Hae Young Moon. Her educational pursuits led her to esteemed institutions such as Depaul University, Azusa Pacific University, the Eastman School of Music, and the prestigious Tchaikovsky State Conservatory.

Throughout her musical career, Hannah had the privilege of studying with esteemed mentors including Roza Yoder, Eteri Andjaparidze, Irina Postinokova, Netlita True, and Louise Thomas. Her talent and unwavering commitment to her craft have earned her victories in various competitions, including the Russian National Piano Competition in San Jose, CA, and the Union League Civic and Arts Scholarship Competition in Chicago, IL.

Hannah’s captivating performances have been showcased on radio stations like WFMT Chicago and KUSC. She has also had the honor of collaborating with notable orchestras, including the Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra, YMF Debut Orchestra, Los Angeles Youth Orchestra, Pasadena POPS Orchestra, Antelope Valley Symphony, and Azusa Pacific Symphony and the La Mirada Symphony.

In addition to her performing career, Hannah is passionate about sharing her knowledge and love for music. She has held teaching positions at Azusa Pacific University and Orange County High School of the Arts, and currently serves on the faculties of Chapman University and Long Beach City College. Hannah actively engages with the community through her involvement with LA Opera Connects and collaborations with local artists spanning various genres. She is also a member of the Long Beach MTAC Branch and operates a successful private teaching studio in La Palma, CA.
